Siemens’ claims denied: no surrender from the Crimea

It is unlikely that the companies will manage to succeed in a court of appeals, since courts are neither going to return the turbines, nor recognize violations of Russian laws by the contractual clauses, believes Denis Frolov, Partner, BMS Law Firm.

There is a high probability that the courts will continue to maintain the position that the turbines were modified to the extent that their delivery to the Crimea did not violate the contract, and in this case no grounds exist for satisfying the claims of either party, the lawyer adds.
